This decadent dessert is a classic "Death by Chocolate" Bundt Cake. It features an ultra-moist chocolate cake base, topped with a glossy chocolate fudge glaze and sprinkled with chocolate chips.
Ingredients
For the Cake
-
1 box (15.25 oz) Chocolate cake mix (such as Devil's Food or Fudge)
-
1 box (3.9 oz) Instant chocolate pudding mix (dry)
-
1 cup Sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
-
4 large Eggs
-
½ cup Vegetable oil or melted unsalted butter
-
½ cup Warm water or freshly brewed coffee (coffee enhances the chocolate flavor without adding a coffee taste)
-
1 cup Semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
For the Chocolate Fudge Glaze & Topping
-
½ cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
-
¼ cup Heavy cream or unsalted butter
-
½ cup Chocolate chips (for sprinkling on top)
Instructions
-
Prep the Pan & Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Generously grease a 10-inch bundt pan with butter and dust with cocoa powder (or use baking spray with flour) to ensure the cake releases cleanly.
-
Make the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, dry instant pudding mix, sour cream, eggs, oil, and warm water (or coffee). Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth and thick.
-
Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold 1 cup of chocolate chips into the batter using a spatula.
-
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs (avoid hitting a melted chocolate chip!).
-
Cool: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes, then carefully invert it onto a wire rack or serving platter to cool completely.
-
Make the Glaze: Place ½ cup chocolate chips and heavy cream (or butter) in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely smooth and glossy.
-
Glaze & Decorate: Drizzle the warm chocolate glaze over the cooled cake, allowing it to drip down the sides. Immediately scatter the remaining chocolate chips over the top so they adhere to the soft glaze. Slice and serve!
