10 Early Signs of Dementia You Should NEVER Ignore

  1. Memory loss that disrupts daily life — frequently forgetting recent conversations, events, or information.
  2. Repeating questions or stories — asking the same thing repeatedly without realizing it.

  1. Difficulty finding words — struggling unusually often to follow or participate in conversations.
  2. Getting lost or becoming disoriented — even in familiar places.
  3. Trouble completing familiar tasks — such as cooking a familiar recipe, using appliances, or managing routine activities.

  1. Problems with planning or problem-solving — difficulty handling bills, finances, schedules, or everyday decisions.
  2. Misplacing things in unusual places — and being unable to retrace steps to find them.
  3. Changes in judgment — unusual financial decisions, poor safety awareness, or inappropriate behavior.

  1. Changes in mood or personality — increased anxiety, apathy, irritability, suspicion, or withdrawal.
  2. Loss of interest in familiar activities — withdrawing from hobbies, social activities, or things previously enjoyed.

⚠️ Important: These symptoms don't automatically mean dementia. Depression, medication effects, sleep problems, vitamin deficiencies, thyroid disorders, infections, and other medical conditions can sometimes cause similar problems. New, persistent, or worsening cognitive changes should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.

And contrary to the image you shared, headaches, abdominal pain, coughing, or simply sleeping in a particular position are not established early warning signs of dementia.
