Here is a simple, delicious way to bring these ingredients together into a comforting one-pan skillet meal.

## Cabbage and Ground Beef Skillet

### Ingredients

* **1 lb** ground beef

* **1 small** cabbage, chopped

* **1 can (15 oz)** diced tomatoes (with juices)

* *Optional seasonings:* Salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, or a splash of soy sauce/coconut aminos for extra depth.

### Instructions

1. **Brown the Beef:** Heat a large skillet or deep pan over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until completely browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Season generously with salt, pepper, and any other spices you like (garlic and onion powder work beautifully here). If there is excess grease, you can drain some of it off, but leave a little to help cook the cabbage.

2. **Add the Tomatoes:** Pour in the entire 15 oz can of diced tomatoes, including the juices. Stir them into the beef, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

3. **Layer the Cabbage:** Add the chopped cabbage into the skillet. It might look like a lot at first, but it will wilt down significantly as it cooks. Stir well to combine it with the beef and tomatoes.

4. **Simmer and Cover:** Turn the heat down to medium-low, pop a lid on the skillet, and let it simmer for about **15 to 20 minutes**. Stir occasionally. You'll know it's ready when the cabbage is completely tender and translucent.

5. **Finish and Serve:** Remove the lid, give it a final taste test, and adjust the salt and pepper if needed. Serve hot straight from the skillet!
