This is the highly popular, natural, 2-ingredient gel that matches the texture shown in the spoon in It is famous in wellness communities for its deeply hydrating and temporary skin-tightening effects.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons Whole Flaxseeds (Linseed)
  • 1 cup Water
  • Optional: 2–3 drops of your favorite skin-safe essential oil (like frankincense or lavender) or a few drops of vitamin E oil as a natural preservative.

Instructions:

  1. Boil: In a small saucepan, combine the flaxseeds and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Simmer: Turn the heat down to a gentle simmer. Stir frequently to prevent the seeds from sticking to the bottom. Let it simmer for about 8 to 10 minutes. You will notice the water turning into a thick, egg-white-like gel consistency.
  3. Strain Immediately: Turn off the heat. While it is still hot, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or a clean cheesecloth/nut milk bag into a clean glass jar. (Note: Do not let it cool before straining, or it will become too thick to separate from the seeds!)
  4. Cool & Store: Let the gel cool completely. Once cooled, stir in your essential oils or vitamin E if using. Seal the jar and store it in the refrigerator. It will keep fresh for up to 1 to 2 weeks.

How to Use:

  • Apply a thin layer to a clean face and neck.
  • Let it sit and dry completely for 15–20 minutes (you will feel a distinct tightening sensation).
  • Rinse off thoroughly with warm water and follow up with your usual moisturizer.
